AGC MARKET LEADER IN 2009
December 22, 2008

An industry-wide lack of dealer group support for the specific needs of risk advisers resulted in a group of advisers breaking away to establish a new licensed entity that is focused on the provision of insurance advice. AGC Financial Services began operating with its own Australian Financial Services Licence in August 2008 and has since grown to be 14 advisers strong.

Alex Apostolopoulos, the Managing Director of AGC, led the decision to start the new group. “A lack of independent dealer groups willing to provide the level of knowledge and expertise to work with their Authorised Representatives to achieve success is evident in the market.” There is a general lack of understanding by dealer groups of the type of support advisers require.

AGC’s business plan is to form strategic alliances with leaders within their prospective fields enabling client’s access to a one stop shop encompassing every area of Financial Services. AGC’s sister companies AGC Life and AGC Premium Life are solely focused on providing wealth protection strategies through working with its over 20 strategic alliance partners across Australia.

Alex Apostolopoulos said “We have developed a process that enables us to provide the highest level of support, communication and administrative efficiency that significantly reduces underwriting delays.” “Furthermore we provide a full needs analysis sit down risk service Australia wide incorporating personal (life, trauma, income protection insurances) and succession planning / business insurances (buy/sell arrangements, business expenses, asset protection and key person insurances).”

AGC Financial Service’s growth strategy also incorporates an aggressive acquisition plan for 2009. Apostolopoulos added “We see a great opportunity for our Authorised Representatives to grow their businesses through our acquisitions and believe this will provide the support for up and coming advisers while we provide the expertise to assist them in building their own strategic alliance networks.”

While the new dealer group does not wish to grow too big too fast, choosing to only partner with likeminded businesses and advisers, it aims to limit there network to 100 authorised representatives across Australia in order to maintain the highest level of service while producing exceptional results.
